In the 1861 census Christiana (age 17) was a servant in the household of James Smith (a joiner) in Kirkby Lonsdale, Westmorland, England.^[4]

Christiana married Thomas Burton Atkinson on 5 November 1864 in Casterton, Westmorland, England.^[5]
