Walter, the son of Joseph Bolus of Nottingham in the County of Nottingham, hatter, and of Anne his wife, the daughter of John Gillham of Leicester in the County of Leicestershire, gentleman, was born at the house of Joseph Bolus at No 7, the High Street, Nottingham on the eighteenth day of February 1836
