Biography

David Bolch / Bolick was born August 10, 1787 in Lincoln, North Carolina; a son of Jacob Bolick and Maria (Greim/Grimes) Bolick.
He married Rachel Simmons on April 8, 1815 in Lincoln, North Carolina[1]and together they had about ten known children including:
  1. Peter
  2. Amos (1816 - 1880)
  3. Angeline (1817 - 1893)
  4. Mahala (1819 - 1890)
  5. Priscilla (1820 - 1919)
  6. Catherine (1822 - 1862)
  7. Caleb ( 1824 - 1908)
  8. David ( 1830 - 1914)
  9. Rachel (1833 - 1927)
  10. Lydia (1838 - 1921)
David passed away March 10, 1870 in Des Moines County, Iowa and he was buried at Prairie Grove Cemetery in West Burlington. [2]

  • FindAGrave Biography:
"David was the son of Maria Grimes and Jacob Bolick. He married Rachel Simmons 8 April 1815. The couple had seven known children before migrating to west central Indiana in the mid 1820s. There they had two more children before moving on to eastern Iowa where the last child was born in 1838."[3]
