I am still very new here, haven't really contributed too much outside of my direct relatives. However, I recently have been researching and adding to a "step-great grandfather" and ran onto the last name "Obering" .. When I saw that she was only the 2nd Obering (Obering-2) entered on Wikitree and you are the manager of the other (Obering-1)...plus they are only a few years apart born date, and both born in Nebraska. What happens when this sort of coincidence takes place? I haven't found any other traceable relation between the two.
Hi Robert! No problem with being new, we all were new once, and we are all still learning! The email msg had the name Oberling. There are 4 on Wikitree, but none in Nebraska, and Iām not manager of any. Then I saw the note on my page with the name Obering. I checked the links to Find-A-Grave, and it appears the 2 women shared a grandparents, Ernst Friedrich Wilhelm Obering, 1833ā1908, and Anne Clara Ilsabein 'Anna' Gerkens Obering, 1838ā1918. No documentation on Find-A-Grave, but you could check FamilySearch and I bet documentation will show up there.
I would be happy to hand over profile management to you if you wish. I was researching for a friend and have no personal connection to the Oberings. Just let me know - Best Wishes, Jill
Wish you a Happy New Year. May 2018 bring you all you need to be happy.
Congratulation for adding your contributions in December. Whatever the quantity of your contributions, they all count. As we always say "Quality is better than quantity" to make a great family tree.

George is my Uncle through my Grandfather Frank Fischer (Fisher). Their were 8 children total. He was adopted by the Pike's. I was told that the Pike's were related to Fischer's. Haven't figured that out yet.

Cheers!
It was Percy George Pike who was adopted by Frank and Sarah Pike. His parents were Lewis and Adelaide Fischer (Fisher). Thanks Cheryl
