Charles Boath son of John Boath and Agnes Oughterlony was born in Dunnichen, Forfarshire, Scotland on 10 Aug 1787 and baptized on 12 Aug 1787.[1]

Charles Boath married Agnes Hutton on 23 Feb 1811 in Carmyllie, Forfarshire, Scotland about 7 miles from his home town of Dunnichen.[2] The marriage was also registered on 24 Feb 1811 in Dunnichen, Forfarshire, Scotland.[3] The couple had 11 children:

  2. John born 1813 in Dunnichen, Scotland, United Kingdom.
  3. William born 1815 in Forfar Angus Scotland.

In 1841 Charles Booth (age 50) was living at West Carsebank in Rescobie, Forfarshire, Scotland with his wife Agnes (age 48) and their three youngest children: Robert (age 9), Nicol (age 7), and Alexander (age 3). Charles was a farmer.[13] Rescobie is about 3 to 4 miles east of Forfar.

In 1851 Charles Booth (age 62) was living in Forfar, Forfarshire, Scotland with his wife Agnes (age 60) and their three youngest children: Robert (age 20), Nicol (age 17), and Alexander (age 14). Charles was employed at this time as a Warper. [14]

A warper is a worker in the textile industry whose job it is to set up the warp threads (the long threads that run the length of the cloth) on a loom in preparation for weaving.

Charles Booth died in Forfar, Forfarshire, Scotland on 23 Dec 1856 (aged 69) .[15] [16] He was buried on December 25, 1856 in Newmonthill Cemetery Forfar, Angus, Scotland[17] [16]
