Jacob was born in Aardenburg on August 10, 1809, son of Jacob Blindenbach and Esther de Ligny. He married Christina Jakoba Janssen, daughter of Johannes Anthony Janssen and Maria Francina Callenfels in Sint Anna ter Muiden on September 8, 1842. This marriage yielded nine children: Johannes Jakob Blindenbach, Hendrik Justinus Blindenbach, Maria Esther Blindenbach, Francina Esther Blindenbach, Eduard Adolf Blindenbach, Gustavus Augstus Blindenbach, Eduard Blindenbach, Willem Blindenbach and Willem Leonard Blindenbach. After the death of Christina, Jacob remarried Katelijntje van Melle Steijaard, daughter of Izak Steijaard and Katelijntje van Melle in Aardenburg on February 27, 1857. This marriage yielded no children. After the death of Katelijntje, Jacob married for the third time. His third wife was Lutera van Piekeren, daughter of Gerrit van Piekeren and Hermina Francina Slothouwer. They married in Groede on July 26, 1864. This marriage yielded no children. Jacob died in Aardenburg on April 12, 1887.
