Biography

Jasper was born in Cornwall in 1852. ^{[1] [2]} He was the son of Charles Millwood Blewett and his second wife Ann Trethewey.

In 1861 he was 8, and a scholar living with his family in the port of Charlestown, near St Austell, Cornwall.^[3] In 1869-70 he was working as clerk-in-charge at the Electric and International Telegraph Office, Railway Station, Newton Abbot, Devon, England. ^[4]

He married Mary Ann Lloyd in Singapore on 21 November 1871 where he was working for the Eastern Extension Australasia and China Telegraph Company.^[5]

He died of dysentery in Batavia (Jakarta), Indonesia, in 1883. ^{[6] [7]}
