The 1901 census lists James at Southover, Sussex, age 65, clergyman, born London. Wife Fanny, 65, born Ross, Herefordshire.[6]
The 1911 census lists James as a clergyman at Lewes, Sussex, age 75, born Middlesex. Wife Fanny, 75, born Ross, Herefordshire.[7]
Probate was granted on James's estate on 25 October 1912, and his death date recorded as 2 September 1912. The record indicates that his wife survived him.[8] His death was registered at Lewes, Sussex in the 3rd quarter of 1912.[9]
