Biography

Edward was born about 1742 in Virginia.

The following is an excerpt from a book about the Plaxco-Robinson families[1] concerning Edward Bland:

"From information furnished the authors by Mrs. G. F . Ford, of Columbus, Mississippi, Edward Bland, the father of Doshea Bland , was a brother of Robert Bland, who was born in Prince William County, Virginia, March 8, 1732, and died in Edgefield County, South Carolina, on March 27, 1786 (or 1787). "

"Robert Bland married in Virginia in February, 1754, Ann Wormeley. Edward Bland and Robert Bland, brothers, were the sons of Robert Bland and Jane Bland, probably of Loudoun County, Virginia. Robert Bland, Jr., and his brother, Edward, came to South Carolina. Both were probably here during the Revolution. The father of Robert Bland, Sr., was, according to Mrs. Ford's records, James Bland, born 1655, and died 1708 or 1709. James Bland’s wife was Margaret"

"Edward Bland married Frances. One of their daughters, Doshea, married John Plaxco. Another daughter, Elizabeth, married George Plaxco [Note:John’s brother], Esquire, as his first wife." Edward passed away in York County, South Carolina sometime after October 12, 1797 the date his will was written but before June 9, 1800 when his estate was probated. [2][3]
