Biography
George Blake is a part of US Black heritage.
George was born before 1841. Blake, his enslaver's surname, is being used as his LNAB until it can be determined what his actual surname is.
In 1841, the 41 enslaved from Blakely Plantation, Leon County, Florida were listed in the Chancery court paperwork on Miles Blake (1785-1840), their deceased enslaver. His heirs, Susan (Parish) Blake (1809-1868), Joel Clifton Blake (1831-1863) and John Henry Blake (1832-1901), were petitioning the court for an equitable division of the slaves, which included George. It is not yet known who received which slaves.[1]
