Robert and Martha emigrated to the United States and initially settled in Goldfield, Teller, Colorado, where Robert was a miner in a gold mine. The town was established by the owners of the Portland Mine in 1895 and was originally called Independence.
On the 1920 census, Robert, a miner, and Martha are living just outside of Goldfield, Teller, Colorado, with their children: James (9 years), Janette (4 years) and Bertha (2 years). Martha was pregnant with their son, Robert, who would be born in October that year.[3]
On the 1930 census, Robert, a meat packer, and Martha are living at 6706 8th Ave NW, Seattle, King, Washington, with their children: James (19 years), Janette (14 years), Bertha (12 years) and Robert (9 years).[4]
Robert Blair died, aged 53 years, on 24 July 1932 and was buried in Evergreen Washelli Memorial Park, Seattle, King, Washington.[5][6]
