Biography

Nehemiah was born August 30, 1794 in Spartanburg County, South Carolina. He was the son of Richard Blackstock and Unknown Unknown. He married in about 1820 to Hammoleketh 'Leeky' Ball, the daughter of Daniel and Ann (Jarvis) Ball. Nehemiah and Leeky Blackstock had children:

1. Priscilla Adeline Blackstock (b. July 6, 1819/d. April 19, 1846)

2. Clarissa H. (Blackstock) Israel (b. December 27, 1820/d. March 29, 1853)

3. Robert Vance Blackstock (b. February 4, 1824/d. August 26, 1906)

4. Emily E. Blackstock (b. April 13, 1826/d. June 30, 1860

5. Harriet J. Blackstock (b. November 21, 1828)

Nehemiah passed away August 6, 1880 in Buncombe County, North Carolina and is buried at the Blackstock Cemetery near Weaverville, Buncombe County, North Carolina.
