Jessie Blacksell (married name Smythe) was born about 1858, daughter of Jane (Muirhead) Blacksell and Charles Blacksell.

She was married to Frederick Stanford Smythe. Their daughter was:

Jessie died in 1945 in Broken Hill, New South Wales, Australia, aged 87 years.[2]
