Biography
Robert was born in 1878.[1][2] He was the son of Thomas Blackburn and Margaret (Wood) Blackburn.[3] In 1900, Robert, age 22, born in October 1877, was working as a Day Laborer, living with his widowed mother, and two brothers and three sisters at Brooklyn Township, Anne Arundel County, Maryland.[4]
Robert married Lina Margaret Gabler in Apr 1905. Robert (age 26) married Lena Margaret Gabler in April 1905.[5]

Robert and Lina had three children, Ruth, Robert and Chester. In 1910, the family was living in unincorporated Baltimore County, Maryland.[6] The marriage dissolved. Lina remarried in 1918 and took daughter Ruth with her to Seattle, Washington, Robert and Chester stayed with Robert.
In 1920, Robert and his son, Robert age 12, were living with Robert's sister, Emma Lillian May (Blackburn) Haase and her husband, in Baltimore City, Maryland.[7] Son Chester, age 10, was enumerated in the household of John F. Reynolds as a boarder. This residence was on the same property and adjoined the residence of William Madison Swanner, Chester's grand uncle.[8]
In the 1930 census Robert (age 51), Car builder, was the married boarder of John A Sparr at 150 North Haven Street, Baltimore, Maryland, as was his son, Chester.[9]
Robert, age 61, was living with his son, Robert, and Robert's family at Baltimore City, Maryland, in 1940.[10] Robert continued to live with son Robert and his wife in 1950.[11]
Robert Warden Blackburn passed away in 1957.[12]
Obituary (obtained from Moreland Cemetery): BLACKBURN - Suddenly, on September 26, 1957, ROBERT W. of 300 South Drew Street, beloved father of Robert H. and Chester Blackburn and Mrs. Ruth C. Laiti of Seattle, Wash. Services at Charles S. Zeiler Funeral Home, 6224 Eastern avenue (at Folcroft street), on Monday at 11 A.M. Internment in Moreland Memorial Park. Visiting hours from 2 to 10 P.M.
