Vito was born in 1875. in Gibellina, Sicily. He was a shoemaker and emigrated to the US in 1899 leaving his wife and son Dominick to follow in 1902. He settled for a while in Newark, NJ and continued to work there as a cobbler. When his family arrived he migrated to Beaumont, TX where he had family. In 1912 he migrated north to Kansas City, Missouri where he continued to work as a cobbler until his death in 1924. He died of bilateral bronchial pneumonia.
