I see that you are seeking your Bilyou origins. Your name of Bilyou resembles the kind of altered spellings that Huguenot names acquired when they were recorded by Dutch people in New Netherland. Have you ever looked at the descendancy of Louis Boulier as a possible source of your Bilyou name?
Scott, I've been looking up records for some of our shared ancestors in the Schaeffer/Schafer/Shaver/etc. family of 1700s New York, Some profiles you manage show a Last Name at Birth of Shaver (an anglicized version of the original German name), but the records show that the individual was baptized with a different name spelling. Notably, Johan Jost S. was baptized by a father named Schäfer, not Shaver.
WikiTree's naming conventions call for us to call people by the names they were known by in their lives, which may be different from the names their children (or later descendants) adopted or that were used in published genealogies. I believe that the LNAB for Shaver-1470 should be changed to Schäfer (and similar changes are needed on others).
Wish you a Happy New Year. May 2018 bring you all you need to be happy.
Congratulation for adding your contributions in December. Whatever the quantity of your contributions, they all count. As we always say "Quality is better than quantity" to make a great family tree.
I am so glad you are working on this branch. I have proposed several merges for it. I hope you agree that it would be better to merge these duplicate rather than to keep swapping their children back and forth.
Re: Jannetje, her father's last name is not a surname, it's a patronymic. Her patronymic is Fredricks. She adopted the surname Mauritz later but since her father was using his patronym for her baptism, her LNAB should be the tribute to her father, per the traditions that were honored during the time of New Netherland. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Patronymic?#Dutch
