Info on Calvin Bill's service during the American Revolutionary War:
He was addressed as an Ensign (Ensn) when he registered the earmark for his cattle in 1781.
However, I have not found Calvin's militia unit; though, he probably was a member of the Wilmington, VT militia.
In 1782 and 1787, Calvin bill was elected as a Selectman for Wilmington.
In 1783, Calvin became a Constable.
These two civil service positions make Calvin Bill eligible for DAR.
In 1785, Calvin Bill, with title of Ensign, held a position on a Petit Jury which makes him eligible for The National Society, U. S. Daughters of 1812 as the Society accepts civil service and militia service from 1784-1815.
The above information comes from _The Reunion of the Sons and Daughters of the Founders of Wilmington, VT, 1890_.
