First Canadian ancestor was born in St. Etienne de Tours France about 1743. He was the son of Andre Bezer and Marie Bergeron of that parish. Early census reports reveal that he settled on lot # 8 along River Canard. It is presumed that he was a soldier in the French army, as the land in this area was granted to disbanded French soldiers. In 1792, having sworn the oath of Fidelity and Allegiance exacted under British law, his grant was confirmed. Source Geneaologie of French in North Anerica
