Alexander Berry was born 4[1] or 10[2] November[1][2] about 1854-1858[2] in Greencastle[1][2], Pennsylvania[3][4]. He was the child[3] of Ann M. and George Berry, the brother of Civil War veteran Joseph Smith Barry of the famous 54th Massachusetts Volunteer Infantry, and the husband[1] and widower of Rose E. Smith.

Death
He passed away in 1923 and is buried at Uniondale Colored Cemetery near Uniontown, Pennsylvania.[2]
