Pauline Olivine Bernier was born on 11 February 1928 in New Bedford, Bristol County, Massachusetts, United States. She was the daughter of Leo Bernier and Olivine Olivier.^[1]

"Duquette-Bernier, Bernier-Richard A brother and sister were principals in a double wedding ceremony performed yesterday morning at 9 in Saint Anne’s Church with Rev. Thomas M Landry O.P. pastor ,officiating. United in marriage were Miss Pauline O Bernier, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Leo A Bernier of 101 Whipple Street and Joseph A Duquette, son of Mr. and Mrs. Arthur Duquette of 248 Flint Street; while Miss Jacqueline T Richard, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Edward Richard of 127 Kellogg Street became the bride of Leo A Bernier Jr, son of Mr. and Mrs. Bernier of the Whipple Street address. Both brides were given in marriage by their fathers, and each attended the other as maid of honor. The bridesmaids were Mrs. Lucille Kirby, Mrs. Florence Odynecky, and Mis Pauline Richard, all of this city and Mrs. Shirley Rhodes of Rochester. The bridegrooms served as best man for each other, and the usher corps comprised Herman Duquette, Norman Richard and John Odynecky, all of this city and Raymond Bouchard of Newport. Miss Bernier wore a colonial styled gown of heirloom satin with a pleated front flounce with her bodice and skirt etched with seed pearl embroidery. Her lace fingertip veil was held by a scalloped beaded crown, and she carried calla lilies centered with an orchid. Miss Richard chose a mousseline-de-soie and lace gown with a fitted bodice fashioned with a sweetheart neckline and insertions of lace. Her skirt, adorned with a lace peplum, was trimmed with three ruffles of lace and three flounces held together with artificial flowers. Her long lace trimmed train was inserted with a lace heart. Her lace trimmed fingertip veil was held by a tiara of flowers and she carried calla lilies centered with an orchid. The attendants wore pink, blue aqua and yellow gowns fashioned with fitted bodices and full shirred skirts of taffeta. Their gowns were accentuated with high laced necklines, ruffled yokes, and ruffled peplums. They wore matching heart-shaped headpieces and carried red roses. A reception was held at the Calumet Club following the double ceremony after which both couples left on wedding trips to Atlantic City, NJ, Washington, DC, and points South. For travelling, Mrs. Duquette wore a grey garbadine suit with an aqua topper and white accessories while Mrs. Bernier chose a light blue suit with a pink topper and white accessories. After June 13, Mr. and Mrs. Duquette will reside at the Whipple Street address and Mr. and Mrs. Bernier will make their home in Boston. Mrs. Duquette, a graduate of the Dominican Academy, is employed at the Fall River Trust Co. Her husband, a B M B Durfee High School graduate, attended Thibodeau’s Business College and is also employed at the Fall River Trust Co.
