Biography

John Bentley was born on December 7, 1749 in Norwich, New London, Connecticut to William "Bentlee" and his wife "Oring"^{[1] [2]}. He was married to Betsy Markham on Mar. 28, 1773.^[3] They had at least two daughters Betsey who was born on March 14, 1774 and Mercy (Bentle) born on March 22, 1779. ^[4]
