Research Notes

It's unclear who this person is meant to represent nor whether he is attached to the "right" parents. According to the Dictionary of National Biography^[4] the William Benson who was born in 1682 and who died on 2nd February 1754 was the son of Sir William Benson, formerly Sheriff of London). He apparently died in WImbledon, Surrey (although this profile originally had Oxford, Oxfordshire as his death location). Apparently his first wife died in 1721 - but this profile has him marrying his second wife in 1720. Since there are no true sources on the associated profiles it is unclear whether these are the right relationships. Wikipedia^[5] has the William dying on 2nd Feb 1754 as the son of William and Martha (different to this profile) and the husband of Eleanor Earle (again different to this profile) and his second wife as Elizabeth (again different) so I think the death date/location is incorrect for this profile. The William Benson who died 2nd Feb 1754 is represented by a different profile William Benson MP (bef.1682-1754) so I have removed the date and location from this one. Its also unclear why he would have been born in Norfolk but baptised the following year in Bermondsey, Surrey so I have marked that as uncertain.
