I am one of four children born to Sherman and Hazel. I have lived most of my life in West Virginia, but not all, having lived in several other states. I started genealogy over thirty years ago. From the first entry in a family chart I was hooked. I get excited over the least little finds. When I break through a brickwall, it sends me over the moon. I want to share the breakthrough with everyone, even if they aren't interested. I work on my family tree almost on a daily basis, and I am still nowhere near the end. I continually find relatives I didn't know existed. My end goal with all my work is to publish a book for my family. I want my grandchildren to know who they are and where they came from. I hope one of them will become interested in genealogy, as well, and pick up the baton when I'm gone. Well, actually before I'm gone so I can guide them.

If you need any help getting started check out the help section from the menu, top left, or head over to the Help section or head over to the G2G forum and take a minute to introduce yourself in the Tree House, you might also want to check out the introductory WikiTree video that a member created.
Our Mentor Team are a friendly bunch of volunteers who will be glad to help you with specific problems if you have any.
Good luck growing your branches, Patt
(After importing a large GEDCOM with multiple sources, I found that adding profiles by hand would have been more efficient. If you have a lot of sources for each profile, consider using the match function, but not the import.)
