Biography
Ludovico Benigno is born 25 August 1917 in Corleone, the son of Pio (or Guido, in some reproductions) Benigno and Maria Sorisi, according to court records reproduced in Senate inquest findings.[1]
His marriage record confirms his parents are Pio Benigno and Maria Grazia Sorisi.
Ludovico marries Giulia Giarratana, daughter of Mario Giarratana and Maria Alongi, from Enna, on 20 November 1940 in Corleone.[2]
In March 1948, Ludovico is one of the last people to see Placido Rizzotto alive.[3]
He is arrested 16 February 1965, charged with associating with delinquents.[4] Zingales calls Benigno part of Luciano Leggio's cosca.[5] He is one of 64 defendants in the Trial of the Corleonesi in 1969. After the judge receives a threatening letter, all of the defendants are acquitted.
