Captain William Belcher served with 4th Battalion, Col. Samuel Selden, Wadsworth's Brigade, Continental Army during the American Revolution.

William was born to William Belcher and Mehitable Unknown, in Preston, New London, Connecticut Colony, on August 29, 1731.[1]

William married Desire Morgan, and had at least eight children.[1]

William served as a Captain, and the Commander of a Company, in the Fourth Battalion of Colonel James Wadsworth's Brigade, during the American Revolution.[1]

William died, in Preston, New London County, Connecticut, USA on June 27, 1801.[1]
