Edward Beeson was born about Jul 1683, in New Castle County, Delaware. His parents were Edward Beeson and Rachel Pennington. He married Esther Hall in October 1704 in Chester Township, Pennsylvania. They had five children during their marriage. Edward Beeson passed away in 1730 at the age of 45, in Brandywine, New Castle, Delaware.[1][2][3]
Edward settled on a tract of land in Brandywine Hundred, New Castle Co., Delaware, near Old Marsh Land (now Vandever Avenue, of the 9th Ward of the City of Wilmington, Delaware. The tract ran east taking in Big Shellpot Creek and ran north to the Philadelphia Turn Pike, taking in the old home, a stone house and a farm on the north side of Shellpot Creek. The property was better known by the old name of Old Herring Rocks. This area is known today as Bellfonte. In Bellefonte, you'll find Beeson Rd which would be the northern boundary of the old homestead. Also in the area is Bellevue State Park which was originally owned by the Beesons; Bellevue State Park was more recently owned by the DuPonts before the State of Delaware bought the property.
Edward Beeson, first child of Edward and Rachel Beeson, was born the summer after they landed in New Castle County, Delaware, at the end of June 1683. The family were members of the Society of Friends, also known as Quakers. He moved with them from New Castle County, Delaware, to Berkley County, Virginia and from there to Chester County, Pennsylvania.
Edward married Esther Hall at Newark, Pennsylvania in 1704. They purchased and settled on a tract of land at Brandywine, now within the city limits of Wilmington. Edward died in 1725.
