Clement William Beecroft was born in 1881 in Fremantle, Western Australia, Australia, son of Clement Simpson Beecroft (1846–1914) and Jane Moon (1850–1919)[1].
He attended Fremantle Boys School[2].
When his father died in 1914 he was known as William.
He enlisted in WWI on 27/11/1915 and his occupation was labourer. He served with the 40th Infantry Battalion. S/N 744A. He was Killed in Action. His body was not recovered[2].
He is memorialised at Menin Gate Memorial, Ypres, Flanders, Belgium.
William died on October 13, 1917 in Passendale, West Flanders, Belgium, aged 35[3][4] [2]. Clement was memorialised on a memorial in Australian War Memorial, Campbell, Canberra, Australian Capital Territory, Australia with a death date of 13 October 1917.[5].
In his will he left just over 40 pound to Marion Beecroft[6]
