Benjamin Bedell ...

Benjamin, the son of Absalom Beddle and Ruth Jackson, became a Doctor. Benj^m Jackson Biddle was taxed for one Doctor in Capt. Robt. Royston's District in Greene County, Georgia on the 1801 tax list.^[1]

Doctr. Benjmin Beddle was listed on the inventory of the estate of Major A. Beddle for items given during his lifetime to his children dated the 19th of March 1803.^[2] Doctr. Benjamin Beddle had received one horse 2 years old, 1 bed & furniture, 2 sheep, 160 lbs pork of Geese Gordens, and History of American Revolution.^[2]

A passport was issued by the Governor of Georgia on Monday the 8th of March 1802 for the Biddel brothers and others:

Ordered

That pass ports through the creek nation to the western territory be prepared for the following person, to wit — Warren Stone, Doctor B. Biddel, William Langham, Isaac Biddel, John Biddel, Thomas Wade and Abner Biddel — which were presented and signed.^[3]

On the 13th day of February 1812 in Greene County, Georgia, Benj^m J. "Bedell" signed a Power of Attorney to Harrison Watts as his legal agent in fact to transact all his business in the State.^[4]

"Benjamin I. Bedell" was recorded on the list of Inhabitants of Alabama in 1816 in Clarke County Township Mississippi Territory.^[5]

He passed away in 1816. ^{[6][citation needed]}

Research Notes

Profile originally showed died 1816 in Jackson County, AL. The Alabama Territory was created in 1817, and did not become a state until 1819. Jackson County, Alabama was not created until 1819 from ceded Cherokee Indian lands.
