Biography

The 1916 Census of the Prairie Provinces shows that Luella lived in a rooming house in Edmonton, Alberta with other young people in their 20's and 30's and that she was a teacher of shorthand at a college. As per 1916 census and other census records, and the name on her gravestone, the correct spelling of her surname is Becksted, not Beckstead.
