Richard Beckett was born about 23 September 1802, son of John Beckett (~1764–~1802) and Elizabeth Heighe Blake (~1764–~1831).
His siblings were:

Richard married Maria Blake (born). Their known children were:
- John Beckett (born 30 September 1835)
- Benson B Beckett (born 30 September 1837)
Richard died about 2 April 1855, aged about 52. He was buried in Beckett Family Cemetery, Cliffs of Calvert, Calvert County, Maryland.[1]
