Marianna Bechler was born on September 22, 1861, in Mikołajewice, Poland[1]. Her parents were Maciej Bechler, 36-years-old farmer from Mikołajewice, and his 32-years-old wife Karolina born Kunc (Kuntz).
She was baptized the same day, September 22. The witnesses were Józef Schmitterer, aged 56, and Piotr Kuntz, aged 30, farmers from Mikołajewice. The ceremony was led by the Rev. Franciszek Żak. The godparents were Konstatny Najmajer and Apolonia Najmajer.
At the age of 19, Marianna maried 25-years-old Józef Nowak, son of Ludwik Nowak and Katarzyna born Szer, on November 9, 1880, in Pabianice, Poland[2]. The witnesses were Kazimierz Zawadzki, aged 35 (groom's brother-in-law), from Pabianice, and Wincenty Piotrowski, aged 55, farmer from Rypułtowice. The ceremony was led by the Rev. Edward Szulc.
They had at least 12 children, seven of whom died early[3]:
