Whereas, Ambrose Carlton by his last will and testament did lend to his wife, Lucy Carlton, his whole estate during her widowhood, and in case of her remarriage the whole estate to be divided into four equal parts, 1 part to his sd. wife and her heirs, and the other three parts to his daughters, the sd. Catherine, Elizabeth, and Lucy, parties hereto, as by the afsd. will recorded in Caroline Co., etc., etc. Sometime after the publishing of the sd. will, the sd. Lucy Carlton (widow of the testator) intermarried with James Mitcham, and thereby became entitled to 1/4 part of a certain tract of 280 a. in Spots. Co., and the sd. Lucy outliving her husband, the sd. James Mitcham, did by her will of record in Spots. Co., direct the sale thereof and the proceeds equally divided among her three daughters, the parties thereto. In consideration of the premises and of several sums to the grantors in hand paid, they conveyed to the sd. Ephraim Beazley, jr., the whole of the afsd. tract of 280 a. in Spots. Co., etc., etc. No witnesses.

Between Harry Beazley of Spotsylvania, VA to William Beazley and Elizabeth his wife, Ephraim Beazley and Dorothy his wife, Mathew Carpenter and Sarah his wife, Harry Duerson and Nancy his wife, William Oliver and Anny his wife and Charles Beazley, Elizabeth Beazley, and Mary Beazley. Ephraim Beazley, deceased, father of the above named William, Ephraim, Sarah, Nancy, Ann, Charles, Elizabeth, Mary and Harry did in his lifetime sell to the above named Harry Beazley a tract of land and received of him the sum of 94 pounds ... for aforesaid land whereon the said Harry now resides, the marks and bounds as herafter [sic] described and our father Ephraim Beazley not having it in his power to convey by Deed to Harry the same. We the legatees and heirs of Ephraim Beazley, deceased, think it just that our father's intention should be carried into effect, and we do collectively and individually for ourselves and heirs acknowledge the receipt of the aforesaid 94 pounds and each of us for ourselves our heirs do doth convey in fee simple (as it was the intention of our father) unto the said Harry Beazley his heirs and forever the tract or parcel of land aforesaid the bounds of which is as follows ... Oliver Beazley, John Beazley, Mary Beazley, William Beazley, John B. Duerson and Caty his wife and Ambrose Beazley respectfully represent that William Beazley, their father, died in 1826 intestate…. … the said William left three other children, vis: Thomas Beasly and Ephraim Beasly, who reside out of the state of Virginia, and Ann Beazley, an infant, being in the whole nine children.

The following are the distributees of said intestate, viz: • Ephraim Beazley, a brother of said intestate • Anna Oliver, a sister • James McCalley and Mary his wife, also a sister • John B. Duerson, only child of Nancy Duerson, dec’d, who was a sister • The children of William Beazley dec’d who was a brother whose names are Oliver – John – Thomas – William – Ambrose – Ephraim – Mary – Catherine the wife of J. B. Duerson – and Ann, the last of whom is an infant under the age of 21, for whom the … William Beazley is guardian • The children of Henry Beazley dec’d who was a brother whose names are Henry – Duerson – Addison and Thomas, the last of whom infants – James M. Beazley is the guardian to Addison and John B. Duerson is the guardian to Thomas. • The children and grand children of Sarah Carpenter who was a sister, the names of the children were Henry – Charles – Jonathan & William Carpenter – and Mary the wife of James Beazley – and of her grand children are John F. – Alexander G. – Samuel P. – Thomas J. – Henry F. – William W. & Jackson L. McKenney, all infant children of Elizabeth McKenney, dec’d. who was a daughter of said Sarah Carpenter.

In the statement of final distribution on 22 December 1829, image 12 the file notes Ephraim "lunatic," Thomas "Missouri" and Ephraim "Missouri."
