Biography

Janet was born in 1920. She passed away in 2016.

Janet "Nettie" Little (Beattie) (Felch) Morse, RN, 96 years old, of Windermere, passed away peacefully at the Orchard Villa on Wednesday June 29, 2016. She was the last surviving child of the late George and Mary Beattie.

Janet was born March 10, 1920 in Lockerbie, Scotland and then moved to Windermere when she was 7 years old. Janet also lived many years in Halifax before returning to the valley in 1968.

She enjoyed working as an RN for many years after graduating from the Halifax Infirmary. As well she was a member of Berwick United Church. Janet enjoyed her family and spending time at Lake George and loved playing cards, darts, Hand crafts, and traveling.

Janet is survived by son, Robert (Kathryn) Morse of Windermere; daughters Nancy (Jim Milligan) Morse of Little River Lake, Bernice (Eugene) Taylor of Moncton, grandchildren; Erin, Nathan, Jeremy, Magee, David, great grandchildren Liam, Kaylynn, Jaydon, Cohen, Gavin, Owen, brother; Charles (Carol) Morse of Middleton, sisters-in-law; Joyce Beattie, Phyllis Beattie, Berwick; Freda Beattie, Windermere; Ferna Morse of Middleton, as well as many nieces, nephews and friends.

She was predeceased by her loving husband, Holmes Magee Morse also her 1st husband Edmund Dana Felch who was killed in Italy in World War II, brothers James (died at 2 years old), George Beattie, Jimmy Beattie, Tommy Beattie, sister Edith Lee, brother-in-laws; Ken Lee, Alvah Morse, Donald Morse, sister-in-law Hannah Beattie.

She was a loving mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, aunt and friend to many. She will be greatly missed by everyone that knew her.

Family would like to thank the Kara Colbourne and staff of Orchard Villa, Berwick for their kindness, caring and support.

Arrangements have been entrusted to Serenity Lindsay Annapolis Valley Funeral Home & Chapels, Berwick Chapel, 192 Commercial Street Berwick (902-538-9900). A visitation will take place on July 3, 2016 from 6:30 – 8:30 pm in the Berwick Chapel. A Funeral Service will be held on July 4, 2016 at 1:00 pm in the Berwick Chapel. Interment will be in the Berwick Cemetery. Family Flowers only. Memorial donations may be made to the Windermere Community Hall or charity of your choice.
