Biography

Thelma Mavis Beason was born at Prahran, Victoria, Australia on 22 January 1922 to Tasman Beason and Florence Trembath. (See Death record and Headstone image).

She taught Sunday School at the Ontario Street, North Caulfield Methodist Church. One of her pupils was Barry Jones who later became a Pick-a-Box Champion and a Politian.

Thelma studied and worked in the office at the Prahran Technical College where she met a teacher Allan Dingle.

Thelma married Allan Dingle at the Methodist Church in Ontario St, North Caulfield, Melbourne, Victoria on 18 May 1946. ^[1]

Allan was a Technical School Teacher. Shortly after they married they moved to Stawell, Victoria in 1946 living at 40 Houston St and 2 Luke St.. ^[2]

The family moved to Geelong in 1957-1959. They lived at 4 Vines Rd, Hamlyn Heights, Geelong.

They then moved to Echuca for 1960-1961 and lived at 14 Tyler St, Echuca.

In 1962, the family moved to Benalla. In 1963, they lived at 37 Maud St, Benalla. ^[3]

In 1965, the family moved to Bendigo, living first at 13 Theodore St, then 210 Neale St and 3 Kunzea Court. ^[4]

Thelma was involved in many community activities including the National Council of Women Australia (NCWA) and achieved much. She had many friends - some from the 1930s - that she was in contact with for many decades.

Thelma and Allan moved into the Strath-haven Retirement Home in October 2003.

Allan passed away in July 2009.

Thelma passed away at the age of 94 on 26 December 2016 at Bendigo, Victoria. ^[5] after an operation after a fall that broke her hip. Birth date recorded on Death Certificate. Funeral 4 January 2017. Ashes buried with Allan at Eaglehawk Cemetery near Bendigo.
