Biography

Robert, baptized at Stratfield, Connecticut, 26 May 1724 [Holt ]

His will, dated, 30 Oct. 1765; rec’d 13 May 1766, gave to his son Abijah, all his blacksmith tools and his gun; to his wife, Hannah, all moveable estate and use of land so long as she remain his widow; after she has done with it, it shall be equally divided among his eight sons and daughters.[1] These children were named in the distribution of the estate of their uncle, Daniel Beardslee, (1766, Stratford probate record), brother of their father. Five of his sons served in the Revolutionary War.

His inventory was taken on 22 June 1766.[2]
