I was born in 1952 in Louisville, KY. My mother was born in Louisville, and Dad moved there at age 7 from Clinton, TN. His Baxters were from East Tennessee, although they first settled in Baltimore, MD. I haven't been able to find the immigrant Baxter ancestor. Dad's mother was Stella Hilton from Hiltons, Scott Co, VA. Mom's paternal grandfather immigrated from Einsiedeln, Schwyz, Switzerland in 1868. Her paternal grandmother was from Oberhonnefeld, Germany. Then on her mother's side, we have Catholics who migrated from Maryland. I'm a retired art teacher living in Alabama. In retirement, my husband & I like to travel, incl. for genealogy. We try to spend time with our four kids & six grandchildren. And now I can spend time making my own art.

Thanks for taking the Pre-1700 Quiz!
Because pre-1700 ancestors are shared by many descendants, working within the projects which coordinate them is essential. You can learn more about joining the community in How To #3 and in the Project FAQ.
Use the Pre-1700 Projects list to find one which best fits your research focus, whether time period, location, or special event. Read the goals and tasks of the project and join if it is a good fit.
Let me know if you have trouble finding projects which fit your focus. Click my name, then ask in the comment section of my page.
