In the nam of God Amen the thirtenth day of June Anno Dom 1607 and in the fift yere of the raigne of or sovraigne Lord James by the grace of God Kinge of England Scotland & Ireland defendor of the faithe &c and in the fourtethe yere of his highnes raigne of Scotland I Thomas Baxe of Capell in the Countie of Surry yoman being sick in bodie nev’theles in pfect remembrannce prayse be to Almightie God I do make ordayne and declare this my last will and testamt in mann and forme following vidlt. First I commend my Soule to my heavenly father my maker & redemmer & my bodie to be buryed in the churche yeard of the pishe of Capell. I bequethe unto Raph Bax my sonne six pounds of lawfull mony of England to be paid wthin thre years next after my decease. Itm I bequeth unto Danyell Baxe eightenne pounds of lawfull mony of England to be paid wthin two yeres next after my decease. Itm I bequethe unto Marye Baxe my daughter tenn pounds of lawfull mony of England to be paid wthin one yere & a half next after my deceasse. Itm I bequeth unto Margarett Baxe tenn pounds of lawfull mony of England to be paid unto her when she shall accomplesh the age of two & twentey yeres or att the day of her mariage which shall first happen. Itm I bequethe unto Briggatt Baxe? Belkes? five pounds of lawfull mony of England to be paid unto the said Briggatt her executors … att & uppon the feast of Thannuncicon of Marie the Virgin wch shalbe in the yere of our Lord God one thousand six hundred & nyne. Itm I bequeth unto Elizabethe Baxe D..dley five pounds of lawfull mony of England to be paid unto the said Elizabethe her executors administrators or assignes att and uppon the feast of Thannunciacon of Mary the Virgin wch shalbe in the yere of or Lord God one thousand six hundred and nyne. Itm I bequeth unto Agnis Danyell five pounds tenne shillings of lawfull mony of England to be paid unto the said Agnis her executors administrators or assignes att & uppon the feast of Thannunciac of Mary the Virgin next comminge after the dat hereof uppon condycon the said Agnes her executors administrators or assignes do mak a generall aquitannce of all duties & demannds whatsoev unto the executors hereunder named att the receipt of the said some of vl. But yf she or any of them shall so refusse to doe that then my very mynd is that my gift unto her or them so given to be utterly voyd. Itm I bequethe unto Jhone Stellwell my daughter thre pounds of lawfull mony of England to be paid wthin seavon yeres next after my decease. Itm I bequethe & my mynd is that my executores under named shall wthin fourtey dayes next after my decease mak owt a lease in forme of lawe unto Thomas Bax my sonne for the terme of tene yeres from the feast of St Michaell tharchangell next comminge of that pt of the house called Highland wherin the said Thomas now dwellethe wth half the barne and half the gat wth the garden and all that land of late in the occupacon of John Walmer wth brook land wch lyeth one sev’all & one croft lyeing unto the west sid of the garden he the said Thomas pforming all covenants accordinge unto the old lease of the said Highland (except unto the executores hereunder named the littell plot of the garden wch was of lat in the occupacon of William … wth the farme groing att all tymes uppon … lettell plot of land abounding against … wth the … of the wood & stuffe frome tyme to tyme. Itm I bequethe unto ye said Thomas Bax five pounds of lawfull mony of England to be paid at the feast of Mary next. Itm I bequeth unto William Danyell twentey shillings of lawfull mony of England to be paid unto him when he shall accomplishe the age of one & twenty yeres. The residue of all my goods cattells & chattells whatsoev’ after my depts paid I give & bequethe unto Richard Baxe & Philep Baxe my sonnes whome I make my hole executores of this my last will & testament and they to tak my depts & to pay my depts and to see this will fulfilled in all poynts as my trust is in them so to do. Also I ordayne and make my welbeloved frinds in Christ John Ster and Robert Stone my ov’seers of this my last testament to see the same truly pformed according to my tru meaninge and according to the great trust & confidenc I hav in theme and they & ether of theme to be paid by myne executors all costes charges & expences that they or any of them shall or may be at in that behalfe. And so O Lord into thine hands I commend my soule.

NOTE: This Will was written in a poor & hasty hand, with the writer managing to make a mess of several names. There are 5 whole lines of text scribbled out & obliterated, some other crossings out & interlining.
