Andrew Batterham was born in August 1791 in Eye, Northamptonshire, England to Thomas Batterham and Ann Harrison (Grant) Batterham.
Some family trees show a first wife named Susana Parker who died at 46 in 1824. Dates make this implausible.[1]
He did married Sophia Youls on June 7, 1830 in Eye, Northamptonshire, England.[2]
Dates make it unclear whether Sophia was the birth-mother or step-mother of John James Batterham.[3]
Andrew immigrated with his son and daughter-in-law to Austalia aboard the FITZ JAMES, arriving on Aug. 4, 1858.[4] His nephew Thomas Batterham was already living "in the Colony" at Raymond Terrace, New South Wales.
Andrew died on July 19, 1869 in Newcastle, New South Wales.[5]
