Fines F. Batchelor, Jr., 91, of Van Buren died Sunday, April 22 in Fort Smith.
He was an Attorney at Law for Batchelor and Batchelor Law Firm, and was preceded in death by his wife Elizabeth “Betty” Batchelor. Fines served in the United States Air Force during World War II and the Korean Conflict, and was a Lieutenant Colonel when he completed his reserve duty. He was a member of St. Michael’s Catholic Church in Van Buren, and was a longtime member of the Van Buren Rotary Club.
Rosary will be said at 7:00 pm Wednesday April 25, at Edwards Van-Alma Funeral Home in Van Buren. Funeral Mass will be at 10:00 am Thursday, April 26 at St. Michael’s Catholic Church Gymnasium, with interment to follow at Fort Smith National Cemetery in Fort Smith with military honors, under the direction of Edwards Van-Alma Funeral Home of Van Buren.
He is survived by two daughters; Lee Vlademar and her husband Stan of Fort Smith, Frankie Shearon and her husband Robert of Poteau, OK, two grandchildren; Stan Vlademar Jr. of Fort Smith, Patrick Casey of Clarksville, AR, and two great grandchildren; Treyton and Cora Casey both of Clarksville, AR.
Honorary pallbearers will be Josh Larimer, Ed Knittig, Kenneth McCormick, James Kaelin, Luke Gramlich, members of the Crawford County Bar Association, and the Van Buren Rotary Club.
