Notes on Wife

Susannah Whipple wife of David Batchelder is said to be from Ipswich, but the Susannah Whipple's found in the Ipswich town records are not David's wife: one is linked to a different husband: John Rogers; and the other died in infancy. There are several Whipple families in Ipswich between 1670 and 1700 who could have had a daughter named Susannah so the parentage of David's wife may remain a mystery. Susannah is listed in David's will but she actually predeceased him by two years[6]
