This family went through Fauquier Co VA in the mid 1700s and shared names with a third Thomas Barton family who was living there. Genetically, this 2nd Thomas Barton family is not related to the 1st and 3rd Thomas Barton families mentioned in this passage.
The third Thomas Barton-2069 purchased land in 1678 in Stafford Co VA . His descendants include a son, Thomas Barton-2065, and grandson, Thomas Barton-3738. This Thomas Barton family's descendants moved to Prince William and then to Fauquier Co VA and scattered. They are also Barton Lineage I and have the only known male Barton descendants of Barton men living in early Stafford Co VA. The Baltimore Co MD and Stafford Co VA Barton families are very distantly related within Barton Lineage I - as determined by BIG Y SNP testing and analysis.
