Marriage (2): Falmouth, Massachusetts 1 Oct 1734 Sarah (Lewis) Gray. She was b. Barnstable 24 June 1713, d/o Nathan and Sarah (Arey) Lewis. Her first husband was Benoni Gray (married 1 Sep 1732, Falmouth). Child b. Benoni Gray. She died 23 Dec 1767.[1]
Marriage (3) Duxbury, Plymouth Colony 19 Mar 1770 Sarah Seabury. She was b. Duxbury, 21 July 1718, d/o Samuel and Deborah (Wiswall) Seabury. She married (2) Kingston 22 Sep 1774 Joseph Bartlett. She died Kingston 4 Nov 1802. She was a descendant of John Alden.[1]

In 1767, John and his son Lewis are mentioned in the will of George Haydon of Plymouth, mariner. John is an innholder.[6]
Probate
The will of John Bartlett of Plymouth, innholder was dated 14 November 1772 and proved on 1 March 1773 in Plymouth. He mentions his wife Sarah, and his children, John Bartlett (executor), Charles Bartlett, George Bartlett, Abigail Bartlett, Sarah Faunce, Hannah Doten, Jerusha Peckham, and Maria Babb, and his brother, Joseph Bartlett.[7]
His inventory was taken on 5 March 1773 in Plymouth. He was a slaveholder.
His inventory included an enslaved black woman named Violet, an enslaved black boy named Allex, aged about 8 years, and an enslaved black girl named Jem, aged about 6 years.[8]
In 1791, with the estate still not settled and his son John Jr. now dead, John Jr.'s widow Dorothy was granted the administration of his estate.[9] An account of his estate by Dorothy Bartlett was recorded which included debts received, funeral expenses, debts paid, personal estate delivered to the widow and heirs, taxes, and administration fees.[10] The estate of John Bartlett was divided between his two sons, John and Charles Bartlett (both deceased. [11]
