Biography

Peter was born in 1864, son of John Barry and Catherine Grim. His father passed away in the Civil War a few months prior to his birth. He is the youngest of 11 plus children. At the age of 7 he is found living with his mother Catherine and siblings Lydia.16, Catherine 14 and David 11[1] in Jackson, Dauphin, Pennsylvania. In 1880 he was working as a farm hand [2] in Halifax.

He married Clara Grace around 1882. They had 2 children Jennie and Arthur.

Pvt Peter (Barry) Berry served with the United States Army during the Spanish-American War.

Sometime after discharge he married Elizabeth Evans (1862–1924).

He was working for the Railroad and living at 321 South Nicholas Street in Saint Clair[4]. They moved to Olive street in Philadelphia[5] by 1910.

In 1920 at the age of 55 he was in the Philadelphia Hospital For The Insane Patients[6]

He reconnected with his son after forty-five years in 1935[7].

He was transferred to a VA Government Hospital around 1935[8].

He passed away in 1943 at the age of 79[9][10], interred in the Beverly National Cemetery, Beverly, Burlington County, New Jersey, USA [11] PLOT C, 0, 213.
