Biography

Carolus Daniel Barry was born about 1872 according to the age given at his baptism. However, his death certificate, which was witnessed by his eldest son, claims that he was 67 years old when he died. It is therefore estimated that he was born sometime between 1868 and 1872.

Carolus and three other siblings were baptised on the 5 August 1890. According to the record of his baptism, he was 18 years old at the time. His parents were Jacobus Daniel and Bertha Dorothea Barry. Also present at his baptism were sponsors: ^[1]

• Bertha Hoffman and;
• Zacharias Hess.

Carolus was married to Elizabeth Francina Dynaard. ^[2]
