Archibald Barr was born about 1795 in Gorbals, Glasgow, Lanarkshire.
Archibald married Anne Mair on February 14, 1818 in the Gorbals [1]. Their known children were:
- Jean Barr (1819–1884) .
- Allan Barr (1820–1888) .
- Janet Barr (~1823–1889) .
- Adam Barr (~1825–1880) .
- William Barr (1827– ) .

In 1841, Archibald was living at Edinburgh Road, Glasgow[2]. In 1851, Archibald was at 129, West Muir Street, Barony in Northern registration district. [3]
When his children were born, Archibald was a Miner at Govan Colliery.
Archibald may have died before 1855 in Glasgow.
