Biography of James Barr

James was born on 23 Aug 1803. He was the son of Robert Barr and Ariminta Avery.

He married Susan Calvert on 22 Jan 1828 in Staunton, Augusta, Virginia, United States. [1][2]

He and Susan had three children: Robert, John, and Elizabeth. His children grew up, married and remained in the area of Staunton, Virginia, known as the Upper Valley. [3]

In the 1830 US Census, it shows that James and Susan were living in Staunton, VA and had one child under the age of 5, (assuming that to be Robert); James was between the age of 20 and 30 (age 27) and Susan was between the ages of 15 to 20). [4]

In 1840 James and Susan were still in Staunton, VA. These are some facts based on the 1840 US Census.
