George was born in 1876, the second of 9 children. He passed away in 1965.
He is most famous for discovering the Beaghmore Stone Circles.
In 1901 the Barnett family were living in Owenreagh, George a widower aged 52 and 3 of his children George 25, James 21 and Annie 17, together with a domestic servant. [1]
