Bell Barnes was born around 1889 in Henning, Lauderdale County, Tennessee. Over the years, she lived in various locations, reflecting a life of movement and adaptation.

By 1910, Bell lived in Texas Township, Lee County, Arkansas. A decade later, in 1920, she had moved back to Civil District 5, Lauderdale County, Tennessee. By 1930, she was living in Lucas Township, Crittenden County, Arkansas, indicating a return to her previous residence or a similar area.

By 1940, Bell had relocated to Detroit, Wayne County, Michigan, where she continued to live in 1950 as well. In Detroit, she worked as a housekeeper for a private family, showcasing her dedication to providing service and support to others throughout her life. Bell's journey spanned from the rural regions of Tennessee and Arkansas to the urban environment of Detroit, reflecting the changes and experiences of her times.
