Biography

William Henry Barnard was born about 4 February 1831 in Lambeth, London, England.

He was married to Caroline Lawrence, who died on 8 April 1865.^[1]

He married Bessie Lynn in 1867 in Victoria, Australia.^[2] Their daughter was:

• Bessie Barnard (1874–1955)^[3]

Bessie died in 1881.^[4]

William remarried in 1883 in Victoria to Ellen Barnard, his first cousin.^[5] Their daughter was:^[6]

• Flora Nellie Barnard (1884–1885)

Ellen died two days after Flora was born.

William remarried in 1886 in Victoria, to Flora Barnard, ^[7] Ellen's sister.

William died on 12 January 1900 in Ballarat, Victoria, aged 70 years.^[8] His remains were buried at Ballarat Old Cemetery.^[6]
