Biography

Alvin was born at Portage La Prairie, Manitoba, on 11 July 1920, the 4th child of William and May Barker.^[1]

In the 1921 census Alvin was 1 month old. His father, William was employed by the Canadian National Railway as an agent. Three older siblings and his mother were present. ^[2] By 1931, Alvin was one of 6 children of William and May now living at 28 Ruttan, Port Arthur, Ontario. Alvin was a Student and his father was an Agent for the Canadian Express Company.^[3]
